The no bullshit weight loss blog: Self hatred

bradywan:

Something else that throws up a roadblock for me. As far as I can remember, all I ever wanted to be was someone else. I can remember being a kid and thinking that I was a douche bag. I don’t know what inside of me is broken, I don’t know why I’ve never had a shred of confidence in myself.

I can…

I so relate to this… I remember even when I was very young, feeling like I was somehow “less” than my friends, wishing I could be someone different.

Tumblr, for as much as I love you, my favorite “social network” is Google Reader.
Yes, Google Reader is a web-based RSS reader but it has something that no other RSS reader has: the ability to share web pages with an open (or closed) network of people, you can comment on what you share, and comment on what others share.
Some of the best things I’ve found out about has been through what other people share on Google Reader. Through Google Reader I’ve met, in real life and online, other people who share interesting things, are great people, and people who are very, very funny.
While you maybe saying to yourself, “OK so what?”, the reason I mention this is Google is going to phase out the social aspects of Google Reader and make users use Google+ instead. No one really knows what they are going to do yet but many people, including myself, are extremely fearful of what’s going to happen.
The above picture is a perfect example of why I love Google Reader. If this ability goes away, I’m going to be very sad.
(Side note: if anyone knows of a web-based RSS reader that has similar social features, please tell me.)

The share function is one of my favorite things about Google Reader. :(
